Realize your National Identity

Realize your National Identity

Nothing can describe the sheer greatness of India. The country, as everyone is seeing at present, is the result of its people’s firm belief in the ancient Vedic culture, distinctive traditions, and philosophies. Each citizen of this country relates to a cultural homogeneity amid diversity and everyone takes pride in such multiculturalism.

Yet, common Indian values, deep understanding of the past struggles, and bright aspiration for the future bind its people together fostering a sense of togetherness. Such collective nationalism in such a vast country is an achievement in itself.

Therefore today, as the country is celebrating Republic Day with ‘India@75’ as the theme for the grand parade to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence, realize your National Identity with a sense of pride.

Preserve this identity always and keep the everlasting flame of patriotism shine within yourself.

Make Patriotism your Identity

A virtue, Patriotism, is not less than devotion. People are devoted not only to India but also to the country’s underlying principles and national ethos.

So, never feel shy when it comes to participating in a display of patriotism: celebrating national days, remembering freedom fighters, showing respect to them on their birthdays, and exercising the rights of a citizen like voting.

These acts are all part of being a responsible and patriotic citizen. And while getting engaged in acts of patriotism, it’s also important to understand how this contributes to your national identity and also why is it crucial to show patriotism when it is required.

A Sentiment that Connects All

Undoubtedly, patriotism brings people together. The sentiment binds everyone where all citizens share feelings and common goals in order to act towards the good for the country. This is the power of shared sentiment that when you see someone displaying the Indian flag on Republic Day or Independence Day, it often boosts your mood.

Such ‘Togetherness’ helps everyone as a country. Whether it’s fighting the COVID-19 pandemic together or supporting sportsmen in international sports events. Patriotism also inspires everyone to lend a helping hand to needy people.

Thus, never take your patriotism and national identity for granted. Every individual effort with a sense of solidarity and patriotic fervor helps India grow stronger. Believe in that.

Your Religiosity is Not Less than Patriotism

Further, also understand that being religious and being patriotic are not two different things. Patriotism is the basic character and nature of all religious people. Mahatma Gandhi also said that his patriotism originates from his Dharma only. Perhaps that’s why the Bhagavad Gita was his guiding scripture.

No other book inspired Gandhi Ji and transformed his life as profoundly as did the Gita. The song of God became an unfailing source of strength & solace to him. In his own words, “After 40 years of unremitting endeavor fully to enforce the teaching of the Gita in my own life, I have in all humility felt that perfect renunciation is impossible without perfect observance of Satya and Ahimsa in every shape and form”.

And so, ‘Truth & Non-violence’ became the core philosophy of the unparalleled patriotism of Mahatma Gandhi.

Moreover, Indian army units are also formed with mixed religious compositions. In every unit, there is a common prayer hall with the statues of Lord Ram, Jesus Christ, the Guru Granth Sahibji and the picture of Holy Kaaba. Needless to say, religiosity and patriotism are inseparable.

Always Cultivate a Patriotic Spirit

So, make patriotism your fortitude & strength. When you’re patriotic, you display a special resilience in showing your dedication to achieve goals in the best interest of India. You use your strength to do what’s right for the country. Every wise deed you undertake reinforces the strength of this country.

Your social work elevates the needy and encourages them to pass that sentiment on. When you cast your vote, you fortify the democracy of this country. When you salute army men parading in the ground on Republic Day, you let them know that you appreciate their service to the nation. These and many such acts of patriotism electrify the collective patriotic spirit.

Understand that your every compassionate act and every act of patriotism is crucial. So, embrace the virtue of patriotism by heart like your national identity.  By doing so you can show much-needed support to India and help to build a stronger and more unified Republic of India.

Happy Republic Day!
